Rent or rent-to-own
Conex Box Rental & Rent-to-Own
Need a conex box for a few months, or want to own one without paying it all up front? Rent a conex box for storage, moving, renovations or job sites, or choose rent-to-own and put your payments toward owning it.

How conex box rental works
- Choose a size and type. Most of our containers can be rented. A 20ft suits most storage and job-site needs; a 40ft handles large inventories.
- Request a rental quote. Pick “Rent” on any product page, or tell us your ZIP code, dates and site details. Your quote spells out the monthly rate, any minimum term, and delivery and pickup fees.
- Prepare the site. Clear a firm, level spot with room for the delivery truck.
- Take delivery. The container is set down where you need it, ready to load and lock.
- Extend or return. Keep it as long as you need it under the terms of your quote, then schedule pickup.
When renting makes sense
- Moving or renovating, when you need storage for weeks or months
- Construction projects with a set end date
- Seasonal stock or event storage
- Trying a container before committing to buy
Rent vs. buy
Renting keeps the up-front cost low, but monthly payments add up. Add the rent for the time you expect to need the box to the delivery and pickup fees, and compare the total with the purchase price plus delivery. If you’ll need the container for a long time, buying usually wins. The conex price guide explains what goes into a purchase price.
Rent-to-own
Rent-to-own lets you pay monthly while each payment goes toward owning the container. It suits businesses and homeowners who want to own the box but would rather not pay the full price up front. Your quote shows the monthly payment, the term and the total you’ll pay, so you can compare it with buying outright.
Rental sizes and types
- A 20ft conex box for most storage and job-site needs
- A 40ft conex box for large inventories and long projects
- 10ft and 8ft units for tight sites
- Refrigerated containers for events, restaurants and harvest cold storage

Questions and answers
How long can I rent a conex box?
Rental terms vary by unit and location. Your quote confirms any minimum term and how to extend.
Do I need to be there for delivery?
Ask when you book. It’s best to be on site to show the driver exactly where the container goes, but some deliveries can be made to a clearly marked, accessible spot.
Can a rented container be moved once it’s delivered?
Moving a loaded container is risky and needs the right truck, so ask for a relocation quote rather than moving it yourself.
What happens at the end of a rent-to-own plan?
Once all payments are made, the container is yours. Your quote sets out the term and total cost up front.
