Shipping and Delivery Policy

Here is how container delivery works: where we deliver, how delivery is priced and scheduled, what your site needs, and what happens on delivery day.

Where we deliver

We deliver to all 50 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands, as well as Canada and Mexico. Share your ZIP code when you request a quote and we will confirm whether we can deliver, and from which depot. See our delivery areas.

Delivery charges

Delivery is priced on the distance from the depot holding your container to your site, plus anything special your site needs. Your quote shows delivery as a separate line. Extra charges may apply for:

  • Waiting time beyond 60 minutes on site, at $60 per hour
  • A return trip if the delivery cannot be completed, charged at the same amount as the original delivery fee
  • Special equipment such as a crane, if your site needs it

Delivery times

We give you a delivery window when you order, and confirm the day 24 hours or more in advance. Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees. Weather, road conditions, truck availability and stock can cause delays, and we will let you know as soon as possible if your delivery is affected.

How containers are delivered

Most containers are delivered on a tilt-bed truck that slides the container onto the ground as the truck pulls forward. Some sites need a flatbed and a crane or forklift, which we will quote separately.

What your site needs

Before delivery day, please make sure:

  • The drop spot is firm and level, ideally with supports under the corners
  • There is a straight approach for the truck: roughly 60–75 feet for a 20ft container and 100–120 feet for a 40ft
  • The route is about 10–12 feet wide, including gates
  • There is 14–16 feet of clear height above the route and drop spot, with no wires or branches
  • The ground can take a heavy truck, and the route avoids septic systems and buried utilities
  • Vehicles and obstacles are moved out of the way
  • You have chosen which way the doors should face

You are responsible for permits, zoning and HOA approval, and for telling us about anything on your site that could affect delivery.

On delivery day

  • Please have someone on site to show the driver exactly where the container goes, unless we have agreed otherwise.
  • The driver will place the container as close to your chosen spot as can be done safely, and may decline to deliver if the site is unsafe.
  • Please inspect the container, check the unit number and note any problems on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves.

Damage to your site

Delivery trucks are heavy. We take care, but we are not responsible for damage to driveways, lawns, landscaping, curbs, septic systems or buried utilities caused by site conditions you have not told us about, or when the truck is directed onto ground that cannot support it.

If delivery cannot be completed

If the truck cannot reach your site safely, the site is not ready, or no one is available as agreed, we will reschedule and charge the return trip and any waiting time described above.

Pickups and relocations

  • Rentals: we collect the container at the end of your rental. Please empty it, sweep it out and make sure the truck can reach it.
  • Relocations: we can move a container to a new spot or site for a quoted fee. Loaded containers can only be moved within weight limits, so please ask before you pack.
