About the 20ft reefer conex box
A reefer (refrigerated) container has insulated walls and an integrated refrigeration unit that holds a set temperature, cooling or heating as needed, so perishable cargo stays within a safe range.
Interiors are usually stainless steel or aluminum with a T-bar floor that channels air under the load for even cooling. Reefers need a suitable power supply on site, so we’ll confirm your power and equipment needs before you buy.
Why 20ft?
The most popular size we sell. It balances space, cost, and easy delivery, and fits on most residential and commercial sites.
What fits
About the contents of a one- to two-bedroom home, or roughly 10 standard pallets.
Who buys a 20ft reefer conex box?
Best for: restaurants and caterers that need walk-in overflow; farms and produce sellers; food banks; pharmacies and clinics with temperature-sensitive supplies; and festivals and events.
Reefers need the right power. Most run on 460V three-phase power, and some can be set up for 230V, so confirm what’s on your site before you order. Used reefers are judged on both the box and the refrigeration machinery, so ask for a recent pre-trip inspection (PTI) report. If you only need a steadier temperature without refrigeration, a 20ft insulated container costs less to run.
