About the 20ft standard conex box
A standard dry container is the everyday workhorse of shipping and storage. Built from weathering Corten steel with corrugated walls, a steel roof, and a hardwood or marine-plywood floor, it keeps contents dry, secure, and out of sight.
Double cargo doors on one end swing open wide and close with lockable cam bars, so loading is straightforward and a padlock or lock box keeps it secure. It is the most common and usually the most affordable container style.
Why 20ft?
The most popular size we sell. It balances space, cost, and easy delivery, and fits on most residential and commercial sites.
What fits
About the contents of a one- to two-bedroom home, or roughly 10 standard pallets.
Who buys a 20ft standard conex box?
Best for: on-site storage during a move or renovation; tool and material storage on construction sites; overflow stock for shops and warehouses; farm equipment and feed; and the base for offices and workshops.
A 20ft box holds roughly 10 standard pallets on the floor, and its double cargo doors open the full width of the container. If you’ll stack tall items or plan a conversion, compare the 20ft high cube, which adds a foot of height. Used 20ft units are graded, so read our guide to used conex containers before choosing between cargo-worthy and wind and watertight.
